Job Description – Human Resources Assistant

PrideStaff Financial, a recruiting firm specializing in general accounting and financial positions, is seeking a responsible, dependable, and dynamic Human Resources Assistant to provide clerical and technical support for the Human Resource department, exercising discretion and sound judgment.

Job Responsibilities – Human Resources Assistant

All duties and responsibilities are essential job functions and are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.  Other functions and accountabilities may be assigned from time to time.  Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.  To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the skills, aptitudes, and abilities to perform each duty proficiently. 


Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping or stretching.  Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, fax machine and other office equipment.  Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 and hearing levels sufficient enough for telephone and normal conversation.  May be occasionally required to work overtime and handle working in an environment that is challenging.


  • Provide administrative support to the HR department in various areas including the areas of FMLA, Workers Comp, and Benefits.

  • Department filing and maintaining personnel files.

  • Ensure appropriate level of office supplies and order as needed.

  • Maintain the HR Resumes file; file new resumes received and purge older resumes bi-annually.

  • Arrange/coordinate meetings internally and externally, and manage calendars as requested.

  • Make photocopies, send faxes and operate other office equipment as requested.

  • Prepares Accounts Payable and Purchase Order Requests for department and administrative expenses.

  • Reconciles and submits monthly mileage and expense reimbursements.

  • Provide phone coverage for the department.

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Assist HR Department Management with special projects as assigned which may require specialized knowledge, ability to review and analyze data as assigned.

Job Requirements – Human Resources Assistant

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of business office principles and procedures.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills. 

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments in a timely manner.

  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction. 

  • Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems. 

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees.

  • Skill in operating various types of office equipment. 

  • Skill in using Microsoft Office products. 

  • Skill in time management and organization.

  • Fast, accurate typing skills.

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent required. 

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in progressive administrative experience required.

  • Must be a fast, accurate typist and demonstrate skill in Microsoft Office products.
