Established Fresno insurance company is looking for an entry level accounting clerk to support their accounting department. The Accounting Clerk will have a strong accounting background and strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. You should be detail-oriented,accurate and have solid problem-solving skills. Must be adaptable to change and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Accounting Clerk Responsibilities:
Assist with various accounting functions as needed, including balance sheet reconciliations and special projects.
Will be assisting with accounting department audits and peak season tasks as needed.
Accounts Payable: Process and mail vendor checks weekly.
File all payment documentation in a timely manner.
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date accounts payable aging.
Accounts Receivable: Apply customer payments from various sources (checks, credit cards, ACHs, wire payments).
Skills and Qualifications:
Degree in Accounting or Business
Minimum 1 year accounting experience
Typing speed exceeding 35 WPM
Attention to detail
- Strong clerical, analytical and organization skills
Intermediate Excel proficiency
Position is 37.5 hours per week 8:00am - 4:30pm
$14-15 per hour based on experience.
